Independent Magento 1 & 2 Code Audits
Each code audit is enterprise-level, 100% bespoke and carried out personally by James, a certified Magento developer and solution architect.
This comprehensive document contains a review of every important technical aspect of your site from performance, code quality, security and architecture.
Independent and impartial technical analysis
When is it needed?
My goal is to provide an independent, enterprise-level Magento code audit which will provide an extremely detailed and valuable snapshot of exactly how the site has been built, an insight into code quality and most importantly provide a detailed set of recommendations.
Weather you are moving from an internal development team to an agency or vice versa the code audit can provide insight and act as a reference guide to the team taking over the project.
What is included?
It includes: a development run book, performance reviews, modules reviews, security and upgrade overviews, Google Analytics review as well as a clear set of recommendations designed to provide the next steps for your development backlog.
Each audit is completely bespoke. I use a number of tools including static code analysis to review the site code as well as personally deep diving into the code base, bringing over 10 years experience to provide insights to your site architecture.
Each audit look in detail at every 3rd party and custom module added to your Magento store. The architecture of the extension is thoroughly checked and Magento coding standards are reviewed using both a PHP codesniffing tool for Magento Expert Consulting Group standards and manually in order to highlight any potential issues.
Upgrade path analysis
A full upgrade path analysis is performed against your Magento code base illustrating the required steps in order to bring your Magento store in line with the latest stable release version. It also looks to provide a foundation for estimating the effort required in order to allow the site to continue to function with the modules currently in use.
If applicable this will include an upgrade from Magento 1 to Magento 2.
A comprehensive performance review is completed on the site looking at both frontend and backend performance along with a clear set of recommendations required to improve the performance of the site.
A full security review is carried out looking particularly at common security flaws as well as a review of all Magento patches, upgrades and 3rd party module issues. It also covers a degree of server and architecture security along with appropriate recommendations.
We take a thorough look at site access, last logins etc and make recommendations to ensure your site access is as limited as it should be.
The audit comes with a clear set of next steps and recommendations in order to allow you to obtain a clear path forward with your Magento eCommerce site, whether it be to build in house or take to another company. The document allows any individual or company to get a very clear view of your site's code base by reviewing a single document.
Who is it written by?
Every audit is personally written by James Aindow, a triple certified Magento developer with over 10 years hands on Magento development experience.
