Mastercard, MDES Manager and MIIG. Contract role. Full time to March 2026, then a retained cadence of release-cycle work.
- Rewrote the 380-page MDES Manager user guide into about 200 pages of DITA XML
- Analysed 949 support tickets to set priorities for the overhaul
- Content design across about 150 configuration screens
- Built the RAG-ready content repository behind a conversational-AI proof of concept
- LLM-assisted review of 30 to 40 screens per release cycle. Scoping AI content-review agents

The Sofa & Chair Company. Fully remote. A platform audit presented to the executive team in month one turned into roadmap ownership and direction of the delivery agency for a Magento 2 re-platform.
- Scoped and designed the re-platform and its integrations
- Vendor selection: AI search (Klevu, Algolia and Attraqt compared; Klevu live within two months) and Akeneo PIM
- SAP ERP connector architecture, and greenfield scoping for Larkbury London
- Ran the permanent Lead Developer hire end to end, then handed over

Senior Developer · DevOps Engineer
Brand Alley, a high-volume flash-sale retailer with around 2 million customers and 6 million products. Worked directly with the CTO and tech lead on a Magento 1 to Magento 2 re-platform, plus AWS pipelines, autoscaling, SSO, and payment and shipping integrations. See Case Studies.
Senior Backend Developer
MADE.COM. PayPal gateway checkout and Google SSO (OAuth). Scoped, peer-reviewed and delivered production features with product and non-technical stakeholders.
2017 to Mar 2018 · Chief Technology Officer
Shero Commerce, New York. US agency for enterprise commerce, with American retail and B2B clients. Joined as solutions architect and stepped up to interim CTO. Around 25 to 30 people, with a core engineering team of 15 to 20 in Albania.
- Owned technical strategy and solution design. Ran the development team meetings, co-scoped builds and unblocked developers
- Pre-sales: pitches, RFPs and detailed scoping on Magento, Shopify and BigCommerce, plus headless builds with React and Vue
- Flagship: Painful Pleasures, a $250k to $300k build
- Introduced agile process, peer and code review, CI/CD, linting and coding standards. Architected AWS for peak-traffic commerce
Dec 2016 to 2017 · Independent Technical Consultant
Ex-Folk clients: Pernod Ricard, Canary Wharf Group, Paco Rabanne, Amanda Wakeley, Finisterre and Big Green Egg. When the agency closed, its clients asked me to transition them.
- Pernod Ricard: content-first Magento build and AWS architecture (Auto Scaling, ELB, S3, CDN and WAF, template-based deployment)
- Canary Wharf Group: scoped and oversaw international sites for property developments on a bespoke PHP build, and managed uptime and client stakeholders
- Big Green Egg: platform audit and Brightpearl ERP scoping
- Productised a Magento code-audit offering, with a site that ranked for the search term
Jun 2014 to Dec 2016 · Chief Technology Officer
Folk Digital, London. Boutique brand-led agency for luxury and fashion clients. Highest technical position, across concurrent enterprise accounts including Wedgwood, Waterford, Hermès, Gieves & Hawkes, Hackett London, Paco Rabanne, Pepe Jeans, Amanda Wakeley and Pernod Ricard.
- Led a team of 12 to 15 developers in pods and owned the full people cycle
- Ran 4 to 10 builds a year, the largest around £300k
- Owned cloud infrastructure, DevOps, security and performance

Folk Digital. Promoted as the agency grew from around 4 people to 15 to 30. Established the delivery process from nothing, brought self-managed hosting in house, and built a Jira-to-Git deployment pipeline.
Aug 2010 to Jul 2012 · Developer
Folk Digital. Sole developer after a restructure, managing two outsourced developers on the incumbent Python platform. Recommended and led the move to Magento, from open source through to Enterprise.
2008 to 2010 · IT Manager
Reeford, a garden and landscaping group. Built and ran a .NET web store and the Windows client-server estate. Scoped and delivered a compare-the-market-style aggregator with an outsourced team of three in India, my first budget and delivery management. Soft-launched V1.
